Memorial Day Parade & Float Building
May 14, 2012 - Posted by: Cubmaster Jason

Our May Pack Meeting will be held at Cubmaster Jason's, and will consist of building our float for the Oostburg Memorial Day Parade. We will be meeting on Thursday, May 24th, starting at 6:00pm (note time change). On Memorial Day, we will meet as a group at the Oostburg Legion Hall at 8:15am, and line up for the parade, which starts at 8:45 and ends at the Oostburg High School. I feel this is a very important event for the Pack, and it shows the community that we appreciate their support. If you are in the area for Memorial Day, please come and march with us in the parade. We also need adults and leaders to help us march, so if your available we'd love to have you!

Summertime Pack Award
May 14, 2012 - Posted by: Cubmaster Jason

The Summertime Pack Award is an award given out by the BSA every year for events that a pack puts on during the summer "off months". There are many parts to this award program, and the Summertime Pack Award can be earned on the Pack, Den and personal levels. To earn the award on the Pack level, amongst other things, the Pack must plan and run 3 Summertime Events, one each month. To earn the award on the Den level, a den must have 50% participation or more at each of the three events. To earn the award on the Personal level, a scout must attend each of the Summertime Pack Award events. Our Summertime Pack Events for 2012 are as follows: The Sheboygan A's Game in June, the 4th of July Fundraiser in July, and the Pack Family Camp in September. More information about each of the three Summertime Pack Events is listed below.

June Pack Event - Sheboygan A's Game!
May 14, 2012 - Posted by: Cubmaster Jason

For our June Summertime Pack Event, we will be going as a group to the Sheboygan A's game on Friday, June 29th! The game starts at 7:30pm, but we will be meeting as a group at the park at 7, so we can organize and do the opening flag ceremony before the game! Please come dressed in your Class A uniforms so we look good for the flag presentation. Best part, admission is free to every registered scout and their families!

Summer Camp 2012
Updated May 14, 2012 - Posted by: Cubmaster Jason

*Update* Its getting close! Summer camp will be here before you know it! I have some informational packets put together for everyone who is attending camp, and I will pass them out at the Pack Meeting in May. If you can not make the meeting, please let me know and I will get a packet to you. Also, EVERYONE who attends camp must fill out parts A and B of the health form ONLY. This is a change from last year, and adults over 40 no longer need to get a physical for Cub Scout Summer Camp. You must fill out the 2012 Health Form, as the 2011 form will not be accepted. The 2012 Health forms can be found on this website by clicking Here.

July Pack Event - 4th of July Fundraiser
April 17th, 2012 - Posted by: Cubmaster Jason

Once again, Pack 3843 will be running the dunk tank at the Oostburg 4th of July celebration in Veteran's Park! As in the past, we will need both scouts and parents to volunteer to help run the fundraiser. Most importantly, we will also need individuals over age 14 to go in the tank! If you are willing, or know anyone who is willing to go in the tank, please let us know!

August Pack Event - Pack 3843 Family Camp!
May 14, 2012 - Posted by: Cubmaster Jason

For our August Summertime Pack Event, Pack 3843 will be hosting a Pack Family camp at Camp Brokenbridge near Gibbsville! The camp will take place on Saturday, September 8th through Sunday, September 9th. Breakfast Sunday will be provided by the pack, with a Pack Family Potluck supper on Saturday night. Families will be responsible for all other meals and snacks, and also eating utensils. Families will bring your own camping gear - small campers will be allowed, but keep it reasonable. Also, there will be no power or water hookups, and as a courtesy to others, we ask that you do not use generators while at camp. We will need an accurate count for this event, so a sign-up sheet will be out at the May Pack Meeting. If you can't make the meeting, just give me a call or send me an e-mail.

Scout Account Policy Change
April 17th, 2012 - Posted by: Cubmaster Jason

The Pack 3843 Committee has approved a few changes to the Pack's scout account policy. The changes will not effect most of you, as most of the changes dealt with how remaining funds get handled after a scout quits or ages out of Cub Scouting. If you want to read the new policy, it can always be found under the "Akela's Stuff" tab to the left, or by clicking here.
