Pinewood Derby
January 2, 2012 - Posted by: Cubmaster Jason

pinewood This year's Pinewood Derby will be held at the Oostburg Elementary School on Saturday, February 4th. Racer check-ins start at 3:30, with the meeting starting at 4:00pm. The pinewood derby cars were handed out at the December pack meeting, if you did not get one, please contact me ASAP! We have had a lot of interest from the siblings this year, so we plan on running a class for them too! If you have a brother/sister interested in running a race, let me know and I will get you a car for them as well. We will be holding a "Wheel Clinic" again this year for Scouts who need help putting their wheels on their cars. It will be held on January 28th, from 11 to 1 at my house. As always, the cars will be inspected using the current Pack 3843 rules, which can be found by clicking here. If you have any questions or concerns about the rules, please ask in advance.

Blue And Gold Banquet
January 2, 2012 - Posted by: Cubmaster Jason

Just a quick reminder - The 2012 Blue and Gold Banquet is right around the corner! The Blue and Gold Banquet is when Pack 3834 traditionally awarded the rank advancements to the scouts, and we look forward to doing that again this year. Please do your best to get the requirements for your rank done, so you can recieve your rank advancments with the rest of your den. The deadline to get your advancments turned in to your den leader is February 17th. The 2012 Pack 3843 Blue and Gold Banquet will be held at the Town of Holland Hall, on February 25th, starting at 5pm.

Summer Camp 2012
November 19, 2011 - Posted by: Cubmaster Jason

In 2012, Pack 3843 is going to change things up a bit as far as Summer Camp is Concerned. Along with our annual treck out to Camp Rokilio, we will also be sending a group of Webelos Scouts out to Camp Twin Lakes! Camp Twin Lakes will be from July 18th to the 21st, and will be Webelos only (Mark's and Rhonda's den for 2012). Camp Rokilio will be July 25th to the 28th, and is open for all of the pack. Camp fees will be $120 each, with a $15 discount if your scout sold popcorn in 2011. Because we are splitting up our camp group this year, we will need more parents to go along! Parents, if you can, please consider spending a great 3 days at camp with your son!

Scouting For Food - Huge Success!
November 3, 2011 - Posted by: Cubmaster Jason

A big thank you to everyone in the pack who came out and helped with the annual Boy Scout food drive, Scouting for Food! The turnout from the pack was awesome! Also, a huge thank you to everyone in the community who helped us by donating food to the food drive! This wouldn't work if not for the support of people in our community! Everyone's efforts were for a great cause, as the food goes to help needy families in our area. Thanks again!

Webelos Camp
September 15, 2011 - Posted by: Cubmaster Jason

Webelos Camp 2011 went great!! We had a great turn out, and our Webelos Scouts worked really hard, with all of them earning two Webelos pins, and some earning one or more beltloops! The weather held out, no rain and it didn't get too cold. Special thanks to the parents and scouts who came, and to all of the leaders who helped. A huge thank you goes to Scoutmaster Dave, who was the leader for Friday night, and did more than his fair share of the programming on Saturday. Also, thanks to Greg and Alex, Boy Scouts from Troop 843 who helped us all weekend. You guys were great!

Also, a big thank you goes to The Tri-County Messenger, the Oostburg Bakery, and Mentinks Market for their help and donations. I'm very proud at how hard everyone worked on this, and how successfull we were. Thanks again!
