Summer camp is coming up fast, and there are still lots of things to do! I need to have a medical form for everyone who is going before we leave for camp. Any adult going who is over 40 years old will need to have had a physical within the last year, and the doctor will have to fill in part of your med form. There is a permission form on the back of the medical form, that needs to be filled out, plus the permission form/talent release form found on the Akela's Stuff page of the website. I will be sending e-mails out with the forms in them, please get them back to me as soon as possible.

A little rain couldn't keep us from having a good day at Veteran's Park! A big THANK YOU goes out to the scouts, parents, committee memebers and everyone eles who came out and helped with the Dunkin' Donuts stand at the 4th of July celebration. Everything went really smooth, and it looks like our pack did really good fundraising this year. A special thanks goes to Carl, Brandon, Mike, and Dave for joining me in the dunk tank, and to the Cedar Grove Fire Department for providing the dunk tank itself. I would also like to personally thank everyone from the community who once again supported our fundraiser.

Gibbsville Baseball Diamond will be the site of our 2010 Rocket Launch. The event will be held on August 21st, starting at 1pm and ending whenever people get sick of launching rockets. This event will be a joint event with the Oostburg Boy Scouts, Troop 843. We will be using this event as a recruiting tool, so everyone is encouraged to invite friends and family to the event. As in the past, all you need to bring is a rocket and some engines, all of the launching equipment will be provided. The Pack will be providing hot dogs, buns and drinks, families are asked to bring either a dish to pass or a desert. This event will be our August "Summertime Pack Award" event.

Although the clouds were dark, the weather held out and everyone had a BLAST at Bay Beach! We spent a couple hours at the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary where the scouts hand fed ducks and deer. Then we crossed the road and had lunch at the Bay Beach Amusement Park, where we spent the rest of the afternoon on the rides!

Remember, on June 1st our dens all shift up. This means that from now on, you should be working on the next book, so if you were tigers, you should now be working on Wolf activities. Also, when you are looking on this website, you must click on your new rank to find your den's page.

I would like to thank everyone who came out for the Memorial Day Parade. We had a great turn out for the parade, and lots of help with the float. I think that the float was a big hit with the crowd, and our group really looked good! Who knows, maybe we will start a trend!

As most of you know, the Assistant Cubmaster job for our pack is still open. I can't do this alone, I need an assistant to help me with pack meetings, planning pack events, and basicly help me with what needs to be done to run the pack. Quality leadership is needed to run a quality pack. Being a leader in your son's pack is very rewarding, so here is your chance! If you are interested in the assistant job or just becoming a member of our committee, please feel free to attend our Committee meetings and try it on for size. We'd love to have you!
