Wisconsin "We Care" Collection Drive
November 8, 2008 - Posted by Committee Member Logan Wade

December, the Holidays in particular, are a time for giving and for thinking about people who couldn't be close to us during this special time of year. With that spirit in mind, our Pack is going to collect items for a special charity called "Wisconsin We Care", a charity that collects supplies and treats for our service men and women currently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. As a pack, we will be setting out collection boxes at various locations around the area. We will then collect the goods, and then I will deliver them to the Wisconsin We Care headquarters in Milwaukee. More information will be coming at the November pack meeting, but you can check the Wisconsin We Care website.

Open Positions in our Pack
October 24, 2008 - Posted by: Assistant Cubmaster Jason

Our pack has a few open leader positions, and will have more in Febraury. Our pack is still looking for someone to take over our Popcorn Sale for us next year. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to help out the pack, but really doesn't want to become a full time leader. Also, we have committee positions open, and more will be opening up soon. Most of these positions DO NOT require you to get up in front of the pack, but are more focused on the operation of the pack. Of course, we are always looking for great people to help run or pack meetings too!! Volunteering in the pack can be challenging, but its VERY rewarding! Interested? E-mail us at cubmaster@oostburgscouts.org for more information.

Pie Throwing Time!!!
November 21, 2008 - Posted by: Assistant Cubmaster Jason

PIES!!! First we got pizza, and then who DIDN'T have fun throwing pies?!?!?!? Thank You to all of our scouts who sold popcorn this year, and for the hard work our scouts and parents put into the popcorn sale every year. Also, nobody worked harder every year on our popcorn sale than Popcorn Cornel Jane, who made her last year as Popcorn Cornel one for the record books. Of course, a BIG thank you goes to all of the people who supported Scouting this year and bought popcorn! Congratulations to Ben and Hunter for receiving our pack's first "Scout Spirit Awards", honoring their popcorn selling efforts. Remember, anyone who sold popcorn gets $20 off of camp this summer, and don't forget to watch Dave and Jason jump in Lake Michigan on New Years Day!

Ash Seed Service Project
October 12, 2008 - Posted By Assistant Cubmaster Jason

Ash Boher Tracks Well it didn't look like it was going to work out in the begining, but then we struck "Ash Seed Gold" later in the morning! Overall, the scouts collected about 2500 seeds from 5 different trees! Special thanks to Mr. Charlie Mayhew for letting us come out and do this project on his land, and thanks to the parents who went walking with us! Want to learn more? Check out Wisconsin's Emerald Ash Borer Resource website.
